I need to be better at trying to capture the rest of the kids before their seasons are over. They're all doing great.

Hopefully they got more out of it than this. Haha, this is David at the end of our scripture study. He actually taught the lesson tonight as one of his "Faith In God" requirements. He did a nice job talking about the First Vision.
I am thankful for Joseph Smith and his inquiring mind. I'm thankful for his courage to seek and follow the guidance he found in the scriptures (James 1:5). I feel completely confident he saw God, The Father and His Son, Jesus Christ as he said he did. I know they love us and want to help us when we don't know what to do. Knowing all the work they had Joseph do bringing forth The Book of Mormon and restoring The Church of Jesus Christ, I know it was necessary for them to appear to him and not simply enlighten his mind or send another messenger. The 'fruit' of the work that Joseph Smith produced under their direction is wonderful. The Book of Mormon truly is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church! I know this because I have tried it and the fruit is good!

I love general conference. I need it. Tonight I had the privilege of going to the General Womens Mtg (broadcast at our stake center) with Melanie and Melissa. We went to dinner before and I just had such a great time with the two of them. They are so great and I'm just so glad to be their mom! I love talking to them and hearing their thoughts and opinions. They are both so smart and down to earth and just...well just wonderful! The broadcast was...hm, I can't even think of the right word to describe it. It was just what I needed, no, more than that, it filled my soul. I'm thankful for a Heavenly Father and a Savior that have prepared these events to help me along my way, to cheer me on and encourage me and give me strength. I know the Holy Ghost testifies of truth and speaks to the soul.
I'm so glad that Melanie and Melissa love going to these meetings as well. Melissa gave upsome time with friends and was happy to do it because she wanted to be there and I know Melanie feels the same. I am so grateful for that. As a Mom my greatest wish is for my children to gain their own testimonies as I have of God and our Savior and the Plan of Salvation. To be steadfast and immovable in living the commandments of God.
Tonight was a blessing to me, another tender mercy of The Lord.
I meant to have someone take our picture after the meeting to help me remember this night. Well, I forgot (got to visiting with some of the sweet and amazing sisters and their daughters in our ward-so thankful for them too and their insights and experiences and just fun personalities) anyway, didn't want to miss the memory of a picture so when we got home we snapped a couple. Melissa doesn't like taking pictures and was tired so she was funny as usual.

What a great trip we had. So relaxing, so fun to have some time just the two of us. Things have been so busy for Eric the last few months with his vet partner out with shoulder surgery, and starting work at the farm with Will, and also being the Bishop that I hardly see him! He is amazing but I have worried about his stress level. Even though this was a business trip, he had much more free time than usual and it was so nice to be together.
This morning while Eric was in class I wandered around the French Quarter some more, admiring it's beauty and picking up some souvenirs. What a beautiful morning it was! So nice for me to have some quiet time to myself as well-without having to spend it on laundry and dishes!
